Ogichidaa Community Helper (16 weeks Training Program)

January 4 – April 14, 2022 Monday to Thursday

  • Do you have a calling to help our community?
  • Do you have lived experience, a willingness to give back and a desire to continue your healing journey?
  • Are you a recipient of Ontario Works, ODSP, Employment Insurance or work part-time?
  • Are you interested in pursuing a career in childcare, early years, in-home support, crisis response, child and youth work and/or teaching?

If so, this virtual program is for you!

You will receive:

  • Cultural teachings and ceremonies from a variety of Elders from different Nations
  • Learn more about self, relationships, healthy communication
  • Child development
  • Coping skills
  • Writing and assessment skills
  • An individualized career plan

There will be an honorarium provided in the form of food and gift cards on a weekly basis.

Creativity Listens (Virtual Program)

Are you looking for a way to express your imagination and showcase your work? If so, please join us for our virtual “Creativity Listens” writing group via Zoom. This group covers a variety of topics and styles that will challenge writing structures and formatting rules in a way that lets your artistic abilities soar. Youth ages 16-24 are welcome!

Here to Help (Virtual Program)

We will have a healing group for families, who have experienced family violence. In this 6 week virtual program we will spend meaningful time together having fun and learning about healthy relationships!

Feeding the Kind Wolf

Do you want to learn how to control your anger, build better communication skills, and learn about conflict resolution? Then Feeding the Kind Wolf program may be the right program for you! This 8 week program will teach you how to reach your goals around anger issues, communication skills, and conflict resolution with the use of traditional knowledge. This is a virtual program for Indigenous youth ages 16-29. Must register to participate. Continuous intake.

*Sharing Circles

*Storytelling

*Learning how to hold ourselves accountable
