On the heels of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee of Canada’s recommendations in Education reform, specifically Recommendation #7: “We call upon the federal government to develop with Aboriginal groups a joint strategy to eliminate education and employment gaps between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Canadians”, Native Child and Family Services of Toronto – Scarborough Child and Family Life Centre launched a report Closing the Gap: An Education and Employment Framework for Aboriginal Youth in Scarborough, which summarizes our research on Scarborough Aboriginal Youths’ Education and Employment Needs in partnership with Western University. This Employment Ontario project was funded in part by the Government of Canada.
